Grounding

Grounding, also known as earthing is a great method to reconnect you to the earth. It is getting outside, putting your bare feet or hands on the ground for a period of time to allow the energy of the earth to balance you. Grounding has studies that show that physically it can improve your mood, reduce stress, improve sleep, prevent fatigue, reduce inflammation, reduce blood pressure, improve wound healing, improve heart rate, reduce pain, boost metabolic rate, and much more.

On a spiritual level, grounding provides feelings of peace, meditation, and contentment. It is seen as a way to connect to Mother Earth or a greater force to return internally to a simpler way of life. It is used to realign the bodies electrical energy to the earth, giving natural dopamine boost to the brain, elevating mood, boosting energy, and brightening our outlook.

The best way to begin grounding is to become more mindful and focus on our senses, what we see, feel or smell, each day slowing down to notice the taste of our food or texture, the smell outside on the breeze, the color of nature around us, and taking time to focus on our breath, counting our inhales and exhales, feeling it move through our body.

Grounding is essential in our journey to grow and heal as it can stop negative thoughts, anxiety, feelings of spaciness, and a racing mind. It is so easy to become distracted and disconnected from life, grounding helps bring us back when we feel that way and helps us get through difficult times.

There are several different ways to ground ourselves:

Walking barefoot

Lying on the ground

Pressing bare hands on the ground

Gardening with bare hands in soil

Submersing in water

Walking in water

Using grounding equipment

There is grounding equipment that has been made to help those that are unable to get out as much and get on the earth to ground. These products you can find online and can help, there are grounding mats, sheets or blankets, grounding socks, clothing, patches and even wrist bands.

Grounding can be done inside or outside, which ever suits you best. Doing this inside, you can use these tools to assist you, through centering yourself and being present, doing this outside using nature, getting on the ground and becoming one with nature.

You can do this as long as you like, a few minutes to 20 minutes. The longer you practice grounding and over a longer period of time consistently, you will begin to see the improvements and changes it brings to your life. Our bodies are filled with electrical currents, as well as the earth and getting our bare feet on the ground, it releases negative ions and recharges us with positive ions to realign our energetic body.

I hope you take some time you get outside and put your bare feet or hands on the earth or get some tools to help your ground indoors. I encourage you to dedicate some time each day to practice earthing to get back in balance with the earth and bring improvements to your life. With all my love and light.
