It is very important what we put on our body each day. We absorb so many chemicals and products through our skin that are a danger to our health and wellness. Over time it can build up in our system and weaken our immunity and health.
The shampoos today are full of chemicals, even some of the 'clean' ones. These chemicals can drastically affect our scalp and hair health, even our body, as our skin is our largest organ. Many of the chemicals can increase skin sensitivity, strip our hair of their natural oils, cause dryness, hair loss and even disrupt hormonal balance. Some studies have shown that they can also increase risk of skin cancer. Most of these chemicals and ingredients are dangerous and harmful to the environment.
A lot of the chemicals used to create fragrances in these products can lead to infertility, irritation, hair loss, asthma and cancer. The synthetic colors are also a danger to our system as a whole. Most of these chemicals are hard to break down in the environment, contaminating the soil and drinking water sources, even affecting marine life and wildlife.
There are many different natural ingredients and homemade shampoos that can be made at home that are healthier and safer for us. Below I will list out a few options with simple ingredients that you may already have at home.
The first recipe I will list is the one I use most often and have experienced great results and have strong healthy hair from using.

1 cup liquid castile soap (any scent or unscented)

You can use more than one essential oil and any other scent you may desire.
Mix all those ingredients together in a bottle and it is ready to use. These ingredients are more liquidly and may need little inversion shake before use to re-mix ingredients.

Recipe #3

You can adjust ingredients that fit best for your container size for each recipe. I hope you enjoy these recipes for your own homemade, natural shampoo.
