Spring is Here

It is that time of year again when the earth comes alive, the sun shines longer and warmer, nature abounds, creatures come out to explore, bees begin to buzz and everything begins to flourish and blossom. This time of year is magic and a huge lesson that even after a time of darkness, cold and quiet, we can come back with light, color and warmth. Spring is a perfect time to set intentions, clean up our lives and space, and declutter our homes, heart and mind.

Spring marks the official new year, opportune time to set resolutions and goals. This is a time to wake up, get serious and work toward reaching our goals. It is more beneficial to do this in spring rather than the middle of winter, the first of the year when our body is in rest mode, same as nature. In the winter or first of the year, nature is resting, reflecting, waiting for the perfect time to wake up and get into action, as should we.

We have more motivation and energy in spring to get things done because our bodies know that Mother Earth is out there working, growing and coming to life. We can take advantage of that to better our life and get the year started.

Spring cleaning, it is so refreshing and healing. Getting all the gunk and grime from the previous year cleaned up and freshen up your home is a perfect way to welcome spring. Decluttering is freeing as well, getting things out of your home and life that are no longer serving a purpose to you. These are way to lay down a good ground to build on for the year to come.

Find ways to celebrate the new year and the new season, decorate your home and environment with elements of nature, bring in plants and flowers, start a garden, get out in the sun, watch nature thrive around you.

If you are unable to have a garden, start with a small plant in your home, get your hands in some dirt and tend to the seed or sprout and watch your time and dedication flourish into something beautiful. Take a walk outside every day, even for 5 minutes, put your bare feet on the ground.

This is also a great time for new chapters to be started, new hobbies, passions or endeavors of life. We are more likely to stick with them in this time and find more courage to step out into new things. Take courage and inspiration from the earth, plants will sprout and grow in the most difficult places at times but they are determined and they do.

Take this time along with the earth to slowly wake up, come back to life, plant the seeds, set intentions, and watch yourself grow. With all my love and light.
